To meet the emerging need of good writers, Nano Science & Technology Consortium (NSTC) has launched a program entitled " Post Graduate Program in Scientific & Technical Writing" - A Distance Participation Program.
Job Opportunity for Students of English Language and Mass Communication:
According to The Bureau of Labor Statistics the demand for writers and editors will grow at a higher rate than the overall labor market over the next several years. It also states that many employers prefer to hire people with degrees in communications, journalism, or English.
Writing opens up numerous career opportunities especially for graduates and Post graduates in English Language and communication. Writing and editing for the broadcasting companies, advertising agencies, and public relations firms, grant writing, corporate and governmental publishing, environmental writing, article writing in newspapers and magazines, book writing, online publishing are a few examples. Candidates choosing this course will also find the certificate appropriate for the preparation for careers in independent consulting and government and business writing.
Eligibility:
Graduation in any discipline. Those who are pursuing a degree program are also eligible. Participants having done their Diploma after 10+2 are also eligible. Good understanding of English language is an advantage. English Language and Mass Communication students are highly advised to join.
Duration: 6 months
Mode: Distance learning participation
Scholarships:
SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically challenged - 40% scholarship (Fee waiver
Women Candidates (40% Fee waiver)
Group (more then five students - 45 % or more than ten students - 50%) single DD Payment
Academic Scholarships: (based on marks in last board/university certification)
Scholarship Eligibility
15% fee waiver 60% - 70% marks in last board/univ.certification
25% fee waiver 70% - 80% marks in last board/univ.certification
35% fee waiver 81% - 90% marks in last board/univ.certification
45% fee waiver 91% onwards marks in last board/univ.certification
Note: The above is currently offered standard scholarship package. However, the potential participants are advised to refer/ check the available options/ further information at the time of making an application. Only first 250 applicants can avail scholarships per program on first cum first serve basis. Only one type of scholarship can be applied for. Scholarship scheme is not for candidates applying from outside India.
How to Join the Program:

Complete the application form, and affix a passport size phograph.
Attach Documents required, and in case of scholarship testimonials showing bonafide.
Prepare a Demand Draft (DD) in favour of " Nano Science and Technology Consortium" payable at Delhi and send the complted application form by registered post/courier to the address mentioned in the form.
